Re: [Niutao] satellite broadband digital library's

Good afternoon Niutao,

The projects that have been suggested by Geoff are all important for Tuvalu. Because they are national projects as such, we would need to seek the views and clearnace of the Government in terms of their priority etc., before we formulate project proposals for each of them. The Government may even agree to develop the project proposals for most of them.

In the case of the Niutao project for a satellite broadband and computers for the Whibley School, I would suggest that we develop this in collaboration with the Government - but we take the lead and not the other way around. I say this because I'm aware that there is a Niutao Development Committee on Funafuti which has the responsibility of screening and developing project proposals that are important for the island.

With respect this project I would ask Kelesoma, Solofa and the other members of the committee to please comment on where the project stands in relation to the many other development projects that have been proposed (by Niutao Local Government) and central government for Niutao. And for that matter, if the project can go ahead.

Best wishes.

Feue

Luaseuta Foundation wishes to ask for permission to start forming
a proposal. And sourcing funding from Western countries to;

a) Build a second story on the Funafuti public library and install a
satellite broadband digital library

b) Build or extend a present existing library for the Vitipu high
school and install a satellite broadband digital library

c) Install satellite broadband and computers for Whibley school
Niutao island

d) A small university is built above the library or at the Hight
school. Delivering internet courses. it's the way of the future !!

This trustee of the Luaseuta Foundation believes lacks of access
to high-speed broadband as imperative to schoolchildren and general
public.
The Internet revolution is going into the second phase, where
schooling is done online, movies, documentaries, free access to all
books, access to all the worlds libraries and university research
will be through the Internet.
